In the wearability sense too; these are timeless designs though still with a nice nod to ‘fashion’. I steer away from obvious trend led designs now as it means short lived; I want pieces that last and will see me through one year to the next. It’s a better way of consuming. Top styling tips by a top Fashion Stylist
I could not resist this chic merlot-coloured velvet suit. It hangs beautifully on the body as it’s super soft and not at all rigid like many velvet suits. As ever, it’s the perfect cut. I wanted to offset the rich hue of the velvet with this floral shirt; it’s not an obvious pairing, but I like it and feel it works. Again, the unexpected comes into play. I have always been partial to a bow tie, so I used an old piece of velvet ribbon as a little neck tie here. Wrapped up & ready for Christmas!
This is my favourite & most Parisian look of all! A knit cardigan/jacket with cropped pants. The chicest blend and also one of the easiest to wear. I like the cropped knit with the high-waisted trousers; this colour palette is refreshing. The gold shoe adds further freshness and ease to the look—a timeless ensemble that Sezane is so good at achieving.
Sezane’s tailoring is unrivalled. The cut of the jackets and the trousers are perfect and work for all body types and heights; I see it time and time again with clients & friends. I am so drawn to this upbeat shade of green - plus it’s corduroy! A winning combination. I’d wear it with casually with a T-shirt underneath, but it can just as easily be enhanced with a silk ruffle blouse for a smarter occasion.
I love the contrasting brown hues of this look. It feels very 70s. I like to pair unexpected things together, so I have used the chocolate brown trousers of one suit with the camel blazer of another. This vintage-style lace blouse is my ideal undergarment and adds to the retro feel. With a heeled boot, it’s a chic day look that will certainly carry you into the evening. Just add a slick of deep red lipstick!
I can never resist pink. This is the softest and comfiest suit to wear and in the perfect shade of pink. Not at all garish. It can just as easily be worn as separates, which is essential with a trouser suit, tho not always possible. I will also wear this blazer with jeans and a T-shirt. I would team this pink suit with an oversized pink stripe shirt, which gives the suit a pared-back feel.
Knitted dresses are my new favourite go-to solution for so many occasions. It's the ideal throw-on piece when you want to look elegant in the evening without being too dressy. It’s a sleek silhouette yet has a relaxed feel due to the knitted element. Also great for daytime with a loafer or, in this case, a faux shearling clog. It also keeps you nice and warm for the incoming cold winter days & nights!
