1 - SOLES
At Sézane, we design a lot of our shoes with leather soles because they offer a guarantee of quality and durability over time.
Because of the vegetable tanning process used on our heritage leather, the usual properties of flexibility, lightness and breathability of this noble material are maintained:
Our soles adapt quickly to the shape of your foot to ensure greater comfort in everyday wear.
They are fine and lightweight, outlining an elegant refined silhouette.
They allow your feet to breathe better and prevent perspiration which contributes to the wear of shoes.
The self-adhesive pads that we provide prevent you from slipping in wet weather and also avoid the negative effects of a full pad fitted from the beginning - that would make the shoe more rigid and damage the upper due to the consequent lack of flexibility.
But they are only a temporary measure, designed to avoid wear. We advise you to go to a cobbler to have a full pad fitted to the front of the shoes after wearing them for a week or two.
Leather is a natural material which is therefore delicate and sensitive to your gait and contact with tarmac. However, when the smooth part (visible on the sole when the shoes are new) is removed, it doesn't mean that the sole is damaged. In fact, it is only the outer layer of the leather and the fibrous layer below it is preserved. However, resoling protects your shoes and makes them last longer.
