Always unplug the unit before cleaning, Clean your lamp base exclusively with a soft, slightly dampened cloth if necessary, Brass parts oxidise naturally over time, so it is not uncommon to see traces of oxidation on your socket. Rub it for a few minutes with a special brass product or Japanese water and a soft cloth to restore a uniform surface, Only clean your lampshade with a soft cloth, dampened if necessary, and with soap and water for the most stubborn stains, Do not use cleaners containing chemicals, solvents or strong abrasives
